About the Role
Our Partner company ` LA Solar Factory is looking for a qualified Procurement Manager. The incumbent plays a key role in developing a long-term sourcing strategy for the Company by looking beyond just using traditional sourcing strategies and developing innovative sourcing strategies that would make the procurement function of the organization its competitive strength.
Job responsibilities:
Work collaboratively with the management and other internal stakeholders to identify major procurement opportunities, coordinate supplier selection, credit, and terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct an ongoing evaluation
Responsible for entire Procurement, Materials & Contracts operations involving Strategic sourcing plan, Contract Management & Warehouses
Conduct research via the Internet, catalogs, trade publications, and trade shows to identify potential suppliers
Interview prospective suppliers either face-to-face or over the phone to determine prices, discounts, terms, etc. And discover the most profitable suppliers to initiate business partnerships with, including negotiations with external vendors to secure the most advantageous terms for the Company
Create spreadsheets with vendor & product or service comparisons of prospective suppliers to support management decisions
Regularly liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments, and customers maintaining strong working relationships with all
Develop and continuously manage the procurement department including setting targets and monitoring performance, also developing and being the custodian of the Company’s purchasing strategy
Prepare, maintain and review purchasing files and records, price lists, the status of requisitions, contracts, and orders, locate suppliers, approve bills for payment, monitor subcontractor performance, calculate the cost of orders, ensure invoices are charged to the appropriate accounts and monitor inventory transfer forms for bookkeeping records
Develop plans for the effective organization and temporary storage of project materials and general inventories at various company and/or independent warehouse locations
Ensure maintenance of accurate records for all stored materials, and the safe, secure and orderly upkeep of company warehouses
Prepare and communicate to the Sales, Design, and Construction teams – product availability, lead times, and cost roadmaps for key materials
Monitor and support returns, damage replacements, and warranty claims
Required qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with engineering background and hands-on experience in executive roles within an organization’s procurement, logistics and administration department over the recent 2-3 years
Proven Negotiation, vendor management and organizational skills
Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
Good communication skills both internally and externally
Ability to use relevant MS Office tools
Familiarity with solar technology, concepts and materials will be a strong plus
Self-disciplined individual
Be comfortable working on strict timelines
Strong analytical skills and advanced knowledge of Excel
Attention to detail and quality, as well as adaptability, flexibility and resilience
Ability to develop, maintain and report meaningful metrics
